Short version: Smart Pantry helps you track the food you have at home. It is free to use and shows ads. Some features use AI, which makes mistakes — never rely on Smart Pantry to decide whether food is safe to eat. Use your own senses and judgement. You keep ownership of what you put in the app. You can stop using it and delete your account at any time.
Smart Pantry ("the app") is provided by CWTI LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 14767118 ("we", "us").
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are the agreement between you and us for your use of the app. By installing or using Smart Pantry, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
Your privacy is covered separately by our Privacy Policy, at https://www.ivanmorgillo.com/privacy-policy-smart-pantry/, which forms part of these Terms.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Smart Pantry. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the app only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
Smart Pantry is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
You can use Smart Pantry as a guest, or sign in with Google or Apple.
A guest account is created automatically on your device and is real: it holds your pantry data. If you uninstall the app, or clear its data, without signing in first, that guest data cannot be recovered by us or by you. Sign in if you want your data to survive a reinstall or move to another device.
You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping access to it secure.
Smart Pantry uses AI (Google's Gemini) for two things: reading expiry dates from photos of labels, and suggesting recipes.
AI output is a suggestion, not a fact. It is wrong sometimes. Specifically:
Smart Pantry is not a food-safety tool, and it gives no medical, nutritional, or health advice.
You must not use Smart Pantry to decide whether food is safe to eat. Use the label, your own senses, and your own judgement. If you are in any doubt about a food, throw it away. If you have a food allergy or a medical condition, follow the advice of a qualified professional, not this app.
Some AI features require you to watch an ad first, or are limited in how often you can use them. We may change those limits at any time to keep the service running and affordable.
Smart Pantry lets you share a pantry with other people using an invite code.
When you share a pantry, everyone in it can see the food it holds, and add, change, and remove items. Some actions stay with the pantry's owner, such as renaming or deleting the pantry itself. An invite code lets whoever holds it join that pantry, so treat a code like a key and only give it to people you trust. You can leave a pantry you joined.
You are responsible for what you put into a shared pantry, and for who you invite.
Smart Pantry is free and is paid for by advertising, through Google AdMob.
Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before showing personalised ads, and you can change that choice later in the app's settings. We do not control the content of individual ads.
Smart Pantry may offer paid features in future.
If it does, the price, the billing period, and what the payment buys will be shown to you before you buy. Payment is taken by the app store you bought through — Apple or Google — not by us. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them, and you cancel through that store's account settings, not through us. Refunds are handled under that store's policy.
We will not start charging you for anything you already have, without telling you first.

We can suspend or close an account that does these things.
What you put into Smart Pantry — your pantry items, your photos, your notes — remains yours. We do not claim ownership of it.
You give us permission to store and process that content for the sole purpose of operating the app for you: syncing it across your devices, sharing it with the pantries you choose, and sending photos you submit to our AI provider for the feature you asked for. Nothing more.
The app itself — its software, design, name, and logo — belongs to us, and is protected by copyright and trade mark law. These Terms give you permission to use the app, not to own any part of it.
Product information may come from OpenFoodFacts and is provided under its own licence.
We try to keep Smart Pantry working, but we do not promise that it will always be available, or error-free.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the app, including any feature, at any time. If we discontinue the app entirely, we will give reasonable notice where we can.
You can stop using Smart Pantry at any time, and you can delete your account from within the app. Deleting your account deletes your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
We can suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, or if we have to for legal or security reasons.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Smart Pantry is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied — including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the app will meet your requirements, that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any AI output, expiry date, reminder, or recipe is accurate, complete, or suitable for you.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, profit, or opportunity, arising from your use of Smart Pantry.
In particular, and without limiting the above, we are not liable for illness, injury, or loss arising from food you ate, kept, or threw away in reliance on the app, including any expiry date it displayed, any reminder it sent or failed to send, and any recipe it suggested. Section 4 explains why: the app is not a food-safety tool.
Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or EUR 50.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
If you use Smart Pantry as a consumer, you have rights under the consumer law of the country you live in, and nothing in these Terms takes those rights away. Where these Terms conflict with a right you have that cannot be waived, that right wins.
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you also keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
We may update these Terms. When we do, we will change the "Latest update" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Smart Pantry after a change means you accept the updated Terms, so it is worth checking this page from time to time.
